1. Why do you need a shoe/ what kind of shoe do you need?

This is the first question you should ask. There are more than a dozen kinds of shoes suiting different occasions. Sports canvass, sports boots, tennis shoes, snickers, corporate shoes, fashion trending ankle and knee-lenght boots. The occasion should be considered when choosing the proper shoe.

2. Buy at the right time

It is also necessary you pick the right time to buy shoes. Buying shoes on a hot afternoon is probably the ideal option, because your feet expand in the afternoon, which means you will have better chances of getting the right shoe size. Avoid buying shoes when your feet are cold, not that it matters that much anyway but we just need to pay attention to these little details or don’t we?

3. Pay attention to the leather

If you are going for men’s shoes that are leather, take a good look at the details of the leather material. Smell it too. The right smell for quality leather is its own aroma and that of the polish on it. Any leather that smells like chemical or feels like plastic is not quality leather and will easily get wrinkled, cracked or even peel in no time. Try stretching and bending or squeezing the leather,if it stays wrinkled then itis not of good quality.

4. Pick the right heels

Don’t pick heels that are higher than 3cm, well except you are way less than 5 feet tall, but still high heeled men’s shoes are not good, they throw your dressing off track. Go for low heeled stuff and also go for heels that are not too noisy, men’s heels are not supposes to click on the floor, the sounds should be muffled.

5. Don’t depend on printed shoe sizes

Be the real judge of the size and fitting of the shoe, printed sizes could be misleading. Put your foot in the shoe, stand, walk around and don’t depend on what dealers say about the shoe expanding with time, it is always better if the shoe fits in properly from the start😀.

6. Feel the insole and the linings

Don’t just look at the outside of the shoe, feel around the inside too, ensure that there are no objects that could irritate of cause blisters on your foot. This is very important if you will wear the shoes without socks.

7. Test the sole

How good is the sole of the shoe and how firmly attached to the upper part? This is very necessary, so you won’t leave the shop and head straight for the cobbler after wearing the shoe just once. Also test the cushion effect of the sole and how much it protects your feet.

8. Consider your wardrobe

Every shoe has a particular style of clothing that best fits it. For men, the shoes have a strong relationship with the trousers or suit their are worn with. Baggy trousers don’t go with streamlined shoes, and straight-cut or pencil style trousers are better worn with slim shoes and light soles. Avoid bulky big heeled shoes if all you have are slim fit dresses.
