Thanks to an innovative effort from the guys at Tizeti, our friends that the NYSC orientation camps in Lagos and Abuja will now have 24/7 access to free WiFi. They would be able to login into the network with their state code and email addresses.
Tizeti a Lagos based ISP company in partnership with WiFi.com.ng is offering the service free for the duration of the current batch of the orientation course spanning between November 24 and December 14. Speaking on the new development, Tizeti’s chief operating officer, Ifeanyi Okonkow said:
“We wanted to give young people who will be spending 3 weeks in the NYSC orientation camp an opportunity to experience wifi.com.ng’s internet service at high speeds. We’re proud to share that as at this time, over 500 corps members have accessed the service”.
The current batch of the NYSC orientation course is the first batch of this year’s compulsory one year NYSC program for Nigerian undergraduates. The course takes place in designated orientation camps around the country.
The company is an internet service provider that provides internet services by WiFi technology, in partnership with several upstream bandwidth providers.
The developmen is innovative and it is a welcome one. Internet access in the orientation camps can be really difficult to get and free WiFi access will help a lot. Let’s hope the development will soon spread across all NYSC camps in Nigeria. And that other ISPs will follow too.
Sharing is cool!😀
