MTN BETA TALK

Beta talk and Pulse plans are the two most popular plans on
MTN’s mobile network. And most subscribers belong to either of the
two. Of course there are others in the game including Tru talk. But
the value on Beta talk and Pulse is unarguably higher.
This post will present the pros and cons of each of the two
plans, and also their migration details.

MTN Beta Talk is a tarrif plan that gives you three times your
recharge, when you recharge atleast N100. The extra bonus can be used
for calls, SMS or for surfing the internet. One thing about this plan and its recharge bonus is that only the use of a recharge card can give you the bonus. Virtual top-up and airtime transfer will not (forget about bonus on beta talk if you
recharge from your bank account or e-wallet). The recharge value from
the pin goes into your main account while the bonus is credited to
your bonus account.

Beta talk also offers some data value in the form of free
10MB which is given once a week upon recharging your account, and 7
days after the last bonus was given to you. The 10MB can be used for
browsing and accessing instant messaging and social network services
like facebook, twitter and whatsapp.

Note: Beta talk bonus cannot be used for data subscriptions and has a
7-day validity. The 10MB data also has a 7-day validity.

The pulse plan is better for most people, because it charges a flat
rate of 11k/sec for calls across all networks after spending N10 every
day. Meaning that after the first N10 spent on voice calls, you will
be charged 11k/sec for all calls throughout that day.

Note that the MTN ipulse is DIFFERENT from pulse. Users on
ipulse cannot enjoy pulse benefits except they migrate to pulse. And
pulse does not offer any recharge bonus. Calls made before your daily
spend of N10 will be charged at 20k/sec after you have spent 10N, all
other seconds for that day will be charged at 11k/sec.

Pulse also enriches your digital life with other benefits such as:

*Music streaming on Music+ at N10/ day

*Happy Hour night browsing at N25/ day

*100% data bonus on purchase of 500MB weekly bundle

*Data bonus on recharge

Beta talk users may prefare a network that gives them three
times the value of their recharge + data bonus. But the truth is, on
Beta talk there are a lot of limitations. First, MTN gets back their
money from you by charging you a flat rate of 40k/sec. That is double
the rate of pulse, even MTN zone(before it was stopped) hardly charged
that amount for calls. And the 40k/sec call rate is not just limited
to your bonus, calls from your main balance are charged at that rate

Another big problem with beta talk plan is that you can’t use
MTN share n sell. So you can’t send airtime. This is apart from the
nuisance of not being able to use your bonus to buy data. One nice
benefit of Beta talk is its happy hour unlimited mid-night browsing,
which allows you to browse from 12:30am to 4:30am on a minimum balance
of N100. Which puts slightly it above pulse, on pulse you get surf
from 12am to 4am at the cost of N25 for only 500mb.

All the same, MTN’s plans are based on the needs of customers.
If you feel three times your recharge is more value than pulse flat
rate, no problem with beta talk. But if you are a heavy internet user
than pulse will like serve better.

Which plan do you use? Do you think you get more value from it?

Hello! Quick question that’s entirely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My website looks weird when viewing from my iphone4. I’m trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to resolve this issue. If you have any suggestions, please share. Cheers!
