There isn’t much difference between the Hot 6 and Hot 6 Pro, but talking about the both of them, the Hot 6 Pro as expected shows more promise and packs more features. Well, we already knew a lot about Hot 6 Pro before it was launched. The 18:9 aspect ratio (display), and of course the Qualcomm snapdragon. However, apart from the camera which the manufacturers think is really amazing, there isn’t much else on the phone. But let’s look at the specs of the Hot 6 Pro in a bit detail, and then we can look the features that make it different from Hot 6 Pro.

DESIGN & DISPLAY
There isn’t much difference between Hot 6 and Hot 6 Pro. Except that the latter is a bit bigger than it’s younger sibling. Same polycarbonate compositing material. The bezel surrounding the display is much thinner, especially around the bottom. This brings the navigation buttons lower but pushes the screen out a bit more.
A resolution of 1440 x 720 covers you, if you’re going to be watching a lot of movies or playing games.
Both phones come with very similar features. There two rear cameras behind. One is 13MP and the other is 2MP camera. The dual rear camera feature creates vivid images of solid quality. Back to the front, there is a 5MP front camera for taking selfies. Both cameras come with LED flashlights. The rear camera comes with dual LED flash.
The both phones come with a 4000mAh battery. There is also fast charging on board and a Type-C USB charging port. Infinix guarantees you atleast 2 days powers on a single charge +/- a few hours. For the average user.
However the battery should easily last for several hours under heavy usage.
One of the cool features that caught my attention here was the onboard power chip. There is a shift. The new Infinix phones don’t come with the usual MediaTek SoC chips. Rather, there is a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon on each phone(425 CPU), there is also and Adreno 308 GPU.
Alongside the processors, Hot 6 Pro comes in two variants, one with 2GB RAM and another with 3GB RAM. For the ROM, there is a variant that comes with 16GB and another with 32GB.
Hot 6(without the Pro) has just one variety, that comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM.
Both phones come with Android 8.0(Oreo) out of the box. On top of which is the XOS Hummingbird v.3.3.
Yeah, there is the fingerprint sensor too, which is fast becoming a tradition. And yes there is also Facial ID. So you have two options, either the Fingerprint, or the more secure face ID.
Both phones come in a variety of colors, including White, black, wine red, blue and gold.
Yes of course! There is 4G LTE on both phones. Also the phone’s 4G LTE bands works with Nigerian Mobile networks. With the exception of Glo. The other three are supported.
The phone’s ports are all strategically positioned below the screen. Including the screen, infact, there is nothing on top of the phone.
Availability & Price
Infinix Hot 6 and Hot 6 Pro are very much available in Nigeria. You can now get them at authorised retail stores around Nigeria. It shouldn’t cost more than N48,000. Well, the price should depend on your location an where you’re buying it.
Also, Infinix Mobility, the manufacturer of the product, launched the product in collaboration with MTN Nigeria and 9Mobile. And so, you’ll be getting some cool freebies from these networks(including data bundles) if you buy from authorized stores.
What’s your choice?
It all depends on your pocket and you needs. If you’re cool with just surfing the internet and managing your social media accounts, taking pictures and streaming web content, then you can go with just the Hot 6. Buy if you’ll be gaming, multitasking heavily, or you just like the idea of a more powerful phone with a bigger screen. Then… Check your budget and go for Hot 6 Pro.
